Manifestação contra a Chevron no E.U.A tem grande repercussão na imprensa local

Durante as manifestações da United Steelworkers (USW), entidade sindical que representa os trabalhadores petroleiros dos Estados Unidos e da Central Sindical Norte Americana (AFL-CIO), contra a Chevron, realizadas nesta quarta-feira, 30, durante a assembléia dos acionistas da multinacional, na Califórnia, a FUP participou de diversos programas de rádio e TV da imprensa local, reiterando o posicionamento da entidade de suspensão das atividades da Chevron no Brasil e, fez denuncias sobre as inúmeras falhas de  de procedimento da empresa, antes, durante e após o acidente ambiental ocorrido em novembro de 2011, na Bacia de Campos, a maior região brasileira de exploração e produção de petróleo.

Ambientalistas norte-americanos e representantes de comunidades atingidas pela Chevron na Nigéria, Angola e Equador também estiveram presente na assembléia dos acionistas da multinacional e nos protestos organizados pelos dirigentes da United Steelworkes e AFL-CIO, que contou também com a participação dos petroleiros da Chevron que trabalham na refinaria de Richmond, na Califórnia, uma das maiores dos Estados Unidos. 

Nesta quinta-feira, o coordenador da FUP, João Antonio de Moraes, participou de uma reunião da Petrobrás com o sindicato dos petroleiros de Houston.
